More information about Share to Cardiff

Introduction

Share to Cardiff has been developed by Cardiff Council in partnership with Jambusters Limited to provide a car share database for people working in Cardiff.

Share to Cardiff uses software to match members who are travelling to and from the same or similar places, by car as well as walking, cycling, bus, train and taxi.

Encouraging more people to start journey sharing and reduce the number of cars on our city's roads is an important part of Cardiff's Sustainable City Travel project. Any organisation based in Cardiff can join Share2Cardiff.

Contact carshareenquiries@cardiff.gov.uk to find out how.

Aims

At present over 85% of UK workers use cars to travel to work each day. Through the Cardiff Carshare Scheme we aim to improve the current situation for all road users by reducing congestion and the volume of traffic on the road network at morning and evening travel times - without compromising or restricting the development of other modes of transport.

As more and more people register on the scheme, there will be a much greater potential for finding a suitable match amongst registered members. The scheme's success relies upon an easily accessible and flexible database of staff who are willing to take part and take full advantage of the immediate and long-term benefits.
